Vispan 2.10 weirdness - 2007/04/03 21:31 Lookie, a new website and new forum!

I get first post too.

Following from a thread on the old forum about V2.10 periodically giving excessive numbers, I have tried everything to track why - so far to no avail.

I have noticed it recently only on 2 WB3 servers, not on the Centos 4.4 servers, but I don't see why that would make a difference.

Currently I am testing using a cronjob to copy off the virtmpfile for later inspectin, then deleting it before the next run.

I will post again if I find anything of interest.

Re:Vispan 2.10 weirdness - 2007/04/03 22:12 Follow up, occasionally virtmpfile starts right from the beginning of /maillog and this is why the high numbers occur.

Yet the next run it will start in the correct place again.

I have no idea why or what to do about it, but it may help David sort it out.

Re:Vispan 2.10 weirdness - 2007/04/10 02:40 If anyone wants a temporary fix before upgrading to 3.0, create a cron job to write something to the maillog between Vispan runs, eg every 10 minutes.

The problem is Vispan starting from the beginning of maillog if the previous run found nothing in maillog.
