Vispan v3.0.0 (upgrade from v2.1.0) - 2007/10/12 05:47 Hi,

I have been using Vispan since March 2006, where I installed v2.1.0.

Recently I installed v3.0.0 and was immediately presented with the error:

*************
Storable binary image v2.7 more recent than I am (v2.6) at
../../lib/Storable.pm (autosplit into ../../lib/auto/Storable/_retrieve.al)
line 328, at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.5/Vispan/Stats.pm line 134
*************

ie. the format of my vispan 2.1.0 data file located in /var/cache/vispan was not compatible with v3.0.0, and the "make install" didn't perform an upgrade
either.

So what I did was delete the data file in /var/cache/vispan and basically start the stats from scratch. This allowed vispan to work and start building the graphs, but I constantly get the following emailed to me from each of the
4 mail servers I installed v3.0.0 on:

*************
No such file or directory at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.5/Vispan/Print.pm
line 302.
*************

Yet the Print.pm file exists there, it's just line 302 within that file that's looking for a perl module which doesn't exist (yet all the perl modules do,
Print.pm just can't find them).

I can an "strace /usr/local/bin/Vispan" to see this happen, and it has "no such file or directory" on plenty of perl modules which actually do exist but
for some reason, Print.pm can't read the perl path so can't find them.

v2.1.0 works flawlessly so I've gone through the process of restoring from backup already so things continue to work.

I wanted v3.0.0 running because of the "domain" feature which is very beneficial to me, as a hosting provider I'm very interested in these types of
statistics.

But unfortunately v3.0.0 is broken in many bits so unfortunately I can't use it.

Does anyone else experience these types of problems?

I'm using:

Scientific Linux 4.5 (RHEL 4 Update 5)

Thanks.

Michael.
